The GDI Treasury was a large complex in West Virginia, United States that housed the bulk of GDI's wealth. Prior to the outbreak of the Third Tiberium War, the Director of Treasury was Redmond Boyle.[1]

The Treasury complex was surrounded by mountains and only accessible through a valley heavily guarded by various base defenses. It was constantly patrolled by Hammerheads fitted with searchlights, which were capable of detecting stealth units.

In addition to the Hammerheads, the complex was also patrolled by a large number of GDI infantry, as well as Pitbulls. Most buildings inside the facility were also protected by AA batteries. Numerous pallets of gold bullion were stored throughout the complex inside G-771G containers.

The center of the complex was a set of plateaus, each with a set of crucial buildings, including a communications center linked to the ion cannon network.[2]

History

GDI Treasury Entrance

The heavily defended entrance to the complex

In 2047, shortly before the beginning of the Third Tiberium War, a Nod stealth taskforce, composed of Shadow teamsSpecters, and Stealth tanks, infiltrated the facility.

The lack of anti-air defenses at the facility's entrance proved to be a critical mistake, as this allowed Shadow teams to glide in and proceed on foot to avoid anti-air fire. The Shadow teams placed beacons on the power plants in the complex, allowing the Specters to destroy them from afar, cutting power to the defense emplacements in the facility and allowing the rest of the team to enter the facility safely.

The team destroyed the main Treasury building, but their main objective was to keep Treasurer Boyle busy, preventing him from attending the Energy Summit on the GDSS Philadelphia. Kane thought that having such an incompetent man leading GDI would greatly aid Nod in their objectives, and decided to ensure that he was the highest ranking GDI leader on the line of succession[2].

The mission was a complete success, dealing billions worth of losses to GDI and successfully delaying Boyle. Most importantly, GDI was completely unaware of Nod's involvement in the attack and believed that it was conducted by the Sons of Umagon, a militant mutant separatist group.[1]
