Background
Edit
The box-shaped Avenger is the mainstay of the offense class. Equipped with a powerful cannon, it can easily stand up to enemy armour, such as Titan Mk. IIs or Wolves.
In-game
Edit
Before the Avatar comes in at Tier 3, it is the only cannon-armed unit in the Nod Offense Class arsenal, and hence, their only counter against units with Medium-type armour. It's GDI equivalent is the Hunter, which has better speed and maneuverability, but worse armour.
All Avengers carry a landmine at the rear of the vehicle. When the Avenger is destroyed, the landmine is automatically armed and released.
When upgraded with a Blue Tiberium Core, it gains an improved cannon and extra mines to drop upon death.
An achievement can be earned if the player uses the unit to destroy several units with the mines it dropped.
