The Battle Base is a unique GDI power projection system also known as fire bases, the battlebase is deployed from the Rig. The Battle Base is essentially a tower with two pads outfitted with Guardian cannons and a SAM turret mounted on its top. The command tower, which hosts the SAM on its top, also contains a stealth detection system. Its main feature is three automated repair drones that repair all vehicles in proximity of the Battle Base using advanced nano technology. This greatly enhances the survivability of GDI vehicles in the field.
The Battle Base has heavy armor plating, but unlike the Outpost, it cannot expand GDI ground control, and thus structures can not be built around it. Instead, the Battle Base is regarded as more of a support structure, like a Watchtower or AA Battery. The Battle Base can be upgraded with Railguns by the Steel Talons faction, should they be purchased at a technology center.
The Battle Base lacks any dedicated anti-infantry weapons, and can be quickly dispatched by dedicated anti-armor troops, such as missile squads, shock troopers and Zone Raiders, or by dedicated anti-structure units such as Commandos, Shadow Teams or Black Hand. Fanatics were also extremely effective against it. Enemy Engineers, Saboteurs, and Assimilators can capture the building with ease due to the lack of anti-infantry defences, though if the base was upgraded with railguns, the result will be different (and quite brutal) for the capturing unit.
Vertigos and Avatars are also somewhat effective, along with Artillery.
