Buzzer Hives constitute the Scrin's basic anti-infantry defense. Each Buzzer Hive plays host to a number of swarms of Buzzers, and resembles an extremely large wasps' nest. Its range is considerable, and while Buzzers may be destroyed before they reach their target they kill human infantry almost instantly on contact. Owing to the nature of Buzzers, Buzzer Hives are no more than a passing distraction for ground vehicles and an opportunity for target practice for aircraft, and so are almost always deployed with some form of backup, often in the form of other Scrin defenses such as the Photon Cannon for anti-vehicle duty and the Plasma Missile Battery for warding of air attacks. If any Buzzers inside the Buzzer Hive are killed,the Buzzer Hive can "regenerate" the lost Buzzers for no cost.
