Command and Conquer Wiki:Namespaces

From Command and Conquer Wiki

(Redirected from CCW:NS)
Jump to: navigation, search

Namespaces are the bit of an article's title that occurs before a colon. Not all articles are in a particular namespace; namespace-less articles just sit in cnc.wikia.com/wiki/articlename.

Namespaces are good for organising various types of article. here is a table which shows all the namespaces on this wiki:

caption
Namespace Contents
: All in universe info pertaining to the Tiberium universe. These articles have no namespace, but you can refer to them as :articlename if you really want.
Command and Conquer Wiki: Out of universe pages about the CnCWiki project, such as policy pages, help pages etc.
CCW: Shortcuts to the Command and Conquer Wiki: namespace, so you don't have to type out Command and Conquer Wiki all the time. See here for info and a list.
RA2: All in universe info pertaining to the Red Alert 2 universe. This includes Red Alert 1 from a Red Alert 2 point of view, by the way.
Generals: This isn't a proper namespace yet (i.e. we've run out of namespace slots at the moment), but all in universe info for Generals.
Forum: Discussion forums.
User: Personal pages for each user. These are not in universe.
Image: This is where uploaded images will go (Image:Filename.extension). Special:Filelist is a list of all of them.
Category: If a page has [[Category:Categoryname]] on it, it will show up in Category:Categoryname even if that Category's page hasn't been created yet (see Command and Conquer Wiki:Categories).
namespace talk: there is an associated talk namespace for all of the above namespaces, which is for discussion relating to that particular page, and is not in universe. Do not use the Forum talk: namespace please (it's obviously redundant).

Please do not create new pages in the forum namespace willy-nilly, there is a separate mechanism for doing that by going to Forum:Index.
