During the Second Tiberium War, the Brotherhood noted the versatility of GDI's Orca Carryall transports. While GDI would abandon the aircraft before the onset of the Third Tiberium War (in favour of the faster V-35 Ox), Nod adopted the basic design and instituted a small number of changes to create their own Carryalls.
[edit] Design
Like their GDI predecessors, Carryalls are capable of lifting all but the heaviest of vehicles over any terrain, and are also VTOL aircraft with four engines on rotatable mounts providing lift and thrust (they aren't, however, turbojet engines, making them unrelated to the ORCA aircraft technology). While slightly slower than the Ox, the Carryall is marginally less fragile in the field. Nevertheless it is by no means designed to enter enemy-controlled terrain and is highly susceptible to anti-aircraft fire. It also cannot carry the heaviest of Nod vehicles such as Reckoners or Avatars. Despite being seen airlifting Stealth Tank and Flame Tank reinforcements into the battlefield, Carryalls called in by commanders are not cleared to airlift these tanks.
[edit] Behind the Scenes
Carryalls cannot be constructed at the Air Tower and must be called in from high altitude, where they loiter waiting for assignments. They can be repaired at Air Towers, though.
