- Chrono Miner

The Chrono Miner was the resource gatherer employed by the Allies during Great World War III. It was equipped with a miniaturised chronosphere-like device, similar to the Chrono Tanks developed in GWWII. However, for commanders to be able to manufacture them without a Battle Lab the device was simplified to the point where it could only chronoshift to a location with a special beacon on it. All allied Ore refineries had one of these beacons installed on them, so a Chrono miner could chronoshift back to it after getting a truck load of ore. A beacon may also be installed on a Soviet one if one manages to capture it, allowing the Chrono miner to Chronoshift to it as well. Also, should the Chrono miner come under attack, the Chrono miner could just chronoshift to the Ore refinery to escape. This made Chrono miners difficult to destroy while an Ore refinery was still standing.

However, there was a distance limit for the chrono device to work. If a Chrono Miner was too distant from an Ore Refinery they would have had to move on wheels until they were close enough to the Refinery to chronoshift. So if they were distant from the Refinery they were very vulnerable from all kind of units, and had no defenses other than the usual ability to crush infantry.

It is not known to operate in WWIII. The Allies apparently only use Prospectors to gather ore now.

[edit] Game Unit

The Chrono miner may only chronoshift to a friendly ore refinery and will do so automatically when full. It must move conventionally to any other location. They can also be commanded to do so providing a way to quickly escape when under attack. Chronoshifting will also leave behind any Terror Drones that may have embedded themselves in the Chronominer.
