Combat suit

The Combat suit was a suit of body armor developed by GDI prior to the Second Tiberium War. It was a highly succesful design, being widely used among GDI troopers of all formations.

The armor consisted of a vest, helmet and kneepads, worn over a GDI jumpsuit. The vest was made from ceramics and integrated with the life support unit mounted on the back and a highly modular design. The helmet had a large, transparent faceplate, with an integrated air scrubber/filtration module, communications equipment, a heads up display and a flashlight(optional).

The design was extremely succesful, and it's design allowed for easy switching of equipment to fit the battelfield role. Upgrades included a special medic helmet with an integrated medical database to aid the combat medic. Another was a disc thrower backpack which contained an array of flat, round grenades to throw and a special anti-shrapnel coating and a jump jet for the jump jet infantry, equipped with an integrated chaingun cannon and a back mounted jet. Engineer corps also had their own modifications, with backpacks containing all the necessary tools they needed.

Modified versions of the combat suit continue to be used widely in the GDI military especially GDI Commandos.
