  • Policies set general rules for the wiki's administration and its content.
  • Any registered editor is free to edit this page to improve its readability as long as the essence of the article remains unchanged.

  • See the policies and guidelines page for an overview of this wiki's policies and guidelines.

Content criteria[]

  • All content should relate to the Command & Conquer series of games or its setting.
  • All content needs to be accurate. Command & Conquer Wiki aims to provide reliable information. In particular, adding speculation and own inventions (fan fiction) to articles should be avoided. Please contribute to the Command & Conquer Fanon Wiki instead.
  • All content needs to be verifiable. Other editors need to be able to check and verify it.
  • All content needs to be informative. Information which is only of interest to the writer or to other editors (as opposed to readers) should not be included in articles.
  • All content needs to be objective. Opinions and "my favourite"-style passages should not be added to articles.
  • All content needs to relate to the games as delivered by the developers; user modifications are covered in separate articles in real world point of view.
  • All content needs to abide by copyright regulations. Generally, content from other sites should not be copied unless permission has been granted.

Criteria for specific content[]

Geographical locations and historical events[]

As a general rule, do NOT add real life historical information unless they are referred to by the game or related materials.

Countries[]

  • A country can have its own page if either of the following is true:
    • There is least one mission explicitly taking place inside.
    • It is a playable subfaction in any game.
  • Information on a country across different universes should share the same page. The United States of America is the only exception. China, Japan, and Russia (see #Site stances on specific cases) are NOT exceptions.
  • A country shall be referred to by its name used in the game even if the name has changed in real world since the release of the game.

Sub-national locations[]

  • A municipal-level location can have its own page if there are at least two missions taking place inside.
  • A provincial-level or even bigger location can have its own page if there are at least two missions without a more specific location taking place inside.

Site stances on specific cases[]

  • The Pacific War: The status of the Pacific War left ambiguous in the official materials and shall remain so. The site avoids any mention of this event outside of the Trivia section of very specific pages.
  • Russia in the Red Alert universe: The official materials almost never draw a clear line between USSR and RSFSR. For this reason, the site considers "USSR" and "Russia" interchangeable in most cases within contexts of the Red Alert universe.
  • Korea in Red Alert 2: The Korean peninsula is shown as divided on all Red Alert 2 in-game maps. The Allied country named "Korea" on the Skirmish subfaction drop-down list uses the real world South Korean flag and the loading screen specifically colors the geographical area of South Korea only. Further, it is referred to as the "Republic of Korea", the official name of South Korea in real world, in both missions where its military appears in Red Alert 2. The idea that the Korean peninsula is somehow united in the Red Alert universe is speculative in nature and has zero support in official materials. Therefore, the site considers the Korean peninsula divided and the Allied subfaction named "Korea" a direct counterpart to the real world South Korea in Red Alert 2.
  • Yugoslavia: The country known as Yugoslavia from 1918 to 1941 and from 1945 to 1992 in real world, which appears in the first Red Alert, and the country known as Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the year 1995, which appears in Tiberian Dawn, share the same page because the latter is referred to as simply "Yugoslavia" in the game and neither Serbia nor Montenegro has appeared in a game in a noteworthy way. The site does NOT specify the full name of Yugoslavia in the Red Alert universe because it is unmentioned in official sources and irrelevant.

Behind the scenes[]

  • "Behind the scenes" information in the form of cultural references is acceptable page content only when there are direct visual or textual correlations.

Bugs[]

  • Only bugs which readers are likely to be interested in should be documented, i.e. bugs which have serious consequences, bugs which can be exploited to the player's advantage or bugs that most players are likely to encounter during normal gameplay. Not every little oddity needs to be mentioned.
  • Bugs encountered in a game should only be added to articles after they have been confirmed by other editors. This is to avoid cluttering the articles with one-time-glitches. To this end, post the bug on the article's talk page first and try to get confirmation.
  • For multi-platform games, make sure to add which platform the bug was encountered on.
  • Exploits relating to an article should be mentioned briefly but only be explained in detail on dedicated exploit pages.

Support Powers[]

Support Power is a reoccurring mechanism in C&C games. By default, a Support Power gets its own page. It should share the same page with the building that provides it if and only if both of the following conditions are met:

  • The building provides only one power and the power is provided by this one building only;
  • The building has no functionality beyond providing the one power and does not servers as a prerequisite for other structures; unlocking units doesn't count.

Spoiler policy[]

  • In general, the whole wiki is considered a spoiler and specific spoilers should not be marked as such in articles.
