Introduction

Help, Canon, Tactics, Speculation, Policy

The following are the official policies of the Command and Conquer Wiki.

Contents

The Outside World

Please keep outside links and real dates to a minimum: Remember that this wiki is actually inside the Command and Conquer universe. Therefore, there should actually be no references to the words "Command and Conquer", "Tiberian Sun", "Westwood" etc. inside the Wiki. The exemptions to this rule are: The Main Page, pages with the "Command_and_Conquer_Wiki:" prefix, User Pages, and all Talk (Discussion Pages).

The only acceptable uses of these words in articles are when characters actually do refer in-universe to these words: EG, Yuri: "The entire world, and all of its history is mine, to Command and Conquer" -Yuri's Revenge, Mission 7, Soviet Campaign. and Kane: "The Tiberian Sun has risen" - Tiberium Sun, GDI Campaign Final cutscene.

Time Perspective

This wiki is written from the perspective (time wise), of immediately after the Firestorm Crisis concluded (in the Tiberian Universe) or Immediately after Yuri's Revenge had been taken (in the Red Alert 2 Universe if we decide to do anything on it) Therefore, all articles will be written about in the past tense - e.g. Titans were used in a particular way, etc.

Material for Articles

The following things are acceptable for inclusion in articles:

  1. Official Description of the item in question (I.E., from Westwood, EALA, etc). Ex: Exaggerated theories of the Brotherhood's formation place it prior to 1400 BC (paraphrased from C&C Tiberian Dawn manual)
  2. Something that was evident from playing the game itself. Ex: Titans were used as a mainstay of the GDI armored forces. Ex 2: Cyborgs were used as patrol units (GDI mission 9, Option 1, Rescue the Mutants.) Notice that for example 2, I used something that the computer was programmed to do, not something that I did. Because we have many ways of different of playing, I think that we should rely on the computer's play, unless it is agreed upon in Command and Conquer Wiki:Tactics.
  3. Something revealed in a cutscene: For example, that Disruptors were instrumental in destroying some of the first prototypes of the Banshee (End cutscene, Mission 9 Main).
  4. Something required to make #1, #2, and #3 above consistent within the game's universe. For example, my stating that the harmonic resonance emitter needing a very stable platform to explain why the Disruptor is a tank, not a walker. N.B. This is not an opportunity to write Fan Fiction; you are allowed to "make up" a limited amount of coherent material to fill in the gaps.

Theories and speculations about the storyline should be posted to your user page (or the forums) rather than articles.

Images

  1. Please use high resolution (up to 1024px) wherever possible and make use of thumbs in articles.
  2. ONLY use official images from Westwood, EA and their concept artists. DO NOT use images that were created by fans, such as screenshots from mods. The possible exception is the famous Cyborg Commando picture, this is unconfirmed but acceptable.
  3. If you wish to use ingame screenshots please cut out the command bar so only the battlefield is visible without any cursors (unless you're showing off the EVA interface).
  4. This ties in with the prohibition on copyrighted material: Do not post magazine scans. These images are copyrighted by the magazine.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following offenses can get your IP address banned by the administrators.

1. Repeated use of expletives / vulgarity. The only acceptable use of expletives in these pages is when a character actually says them, and even then, don't be surprised if an Admin edits it.

2. Attempting to put an agenda into the pages (A real world agenda, NOD / GDI bias is fine), after having been already warned about it.

3. Repeated vandalism of the pages, after having been warned.

4. Copying articles into this wiki which you did not write (from other sources). Note that if this is copyrighted material, you may be immediately banned, and the offending material will be removed.

In essence, if an Admin tells you not to do something, then please don't do it.
