The Raptor was the United States' primary multi-role fighter during the GLA War. Most sorties carried air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, but the Raptor could also deliver bombs by dive bombing, though this feature was only seen in the certain in-game cinematic and in the actual game, the raptor can only deliver a missile payload.
Aircraft carriers operated a naval variant which usually carried less payload per sortie.
An improved variant was the King Raptor.
[edit] Game Unit
The Raptor normally carries four missiles that may be used against air or ground targets. The aircraft must return to an airfield to reload.
Aircraft carrier support is available in some missions. Raptors launched from carriers only have two missiles before they must reload. Aircraft from carriers may not be replaced if shot down.
