The F-23 Black Widow is GDI's most advanced fighter aircraft. It appears in Tiberian Dawn cutscenes, where it is equipped with underwing pylons. Doing so compromises its stealth characteristics and can degrade its maneuverability but allows for increased payload (bombs, external fuel tanks, or up to eight more missiles in total, depending on the type of pylons used). It is perhaps accepted also because GDI possesses greater electronic warfare capabilities to negate any advantage Nod has in terms of aerial detection.
