General 'Anvil' Shin Fai was a Chinese Class AAA general serving in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) during the GLA Conflict.
Background[]
On the battlefield, China's greatest resource is the millions of individuals in uniform, and General Shin has staked a career on them. Known to his troopers as The Anvil, the 57 year old[1] General Shin can mobilize four divisions in twenty-four hours thanks to a streamlined, and sometimes brutal, command structure. Discipline is very strong with General Shin, and officers and infantry who can maintain it are rewarded.[2]
The General has developed advanced field training programs for the Red Guard and elite operatives. Military analysts credit the speed and professionalism of General Shin's peacekeeping units with preventing the Taiwan Conflict of 2009 from becoming a global war. His divisions feature several weapons and transport systems unique in the People's Liberation Army.[2]
Stationed at Camp Snake, Beijing, Fai's Combat Number is 2030-200403-1.

Overview[]
Shin Fai's army embodies very essence of China's mass warfare doctrine of victory through overwhelming numbers. In contrast to his fellow Chinese generals, he has no use for tanks. Advanced infantry training and special transport systems make Fai's divisions like a slow-moving juggernaut. His infantry-focused army is slower and less mobile than more vehicle-dependent generals, but more resilient, because the sheer amount of manpower available to him meant that his army could absorb huge losses without breaking. His infantry, which are quickly trained, are equally suited to offense and defense alike. Superior hackers, more effective and survivable than the standard trainee, gave him an economic edge. With the proper incorporation of of support vehicles, artillery units and Super Black Lotus, Shin Fai could customize his force so that it would be effective against most opposing armies.

- Costs more ($1400->$2400), but comes with 8 Mini-Gunners, an integrated Speaker Tower, and infantry can fire from within.
- Assault Helix replaces Helix.
- Cannot carry vehicles and can only be upgraded with a Battle Bunker, but can hold more infantry (5->8).

Generals Challenge[]
Although a challenge map and appropriate dialogue quotes were created for him, Shin Fai does not appear as an opponent during the Challenge. His map was not included in the final game release for unknown reasons, possibly due to time constraints. The same is true of the GLA Demolition General.
However, certain modifications, such as NProject and Pro:Gen, allow the player to battle against Fai in his own area. In these mods, his base can only be accessed via three bridges, each bridge being heavily defended by garrisoned bunkers, gatling cannons, and walls. Fai's base appears to be the most heavily defended of all the Chinese generals, though that does not stop him from sending waves of infantry to attack the player's base.

Trivia[]
- All of Fai's infantry would have been upgradeable with his own version of protective chemical suits, similar to the standard American Chemical Suits upgrade. The sounds for this upgrade are still accessible from in-game files and the upgrade itself can be applied if modded in by the user.
- Despite being Chinese General, Fai wears an American Bronze Star.
- Fai's pistol is a CZ-75 (Pre-B model) and the rifles in the background are H&K SL8s, none of which are issued by the real-world Chinese military. However, since he is a General, it would be reasonable to assume he acquired the pistol as a gift from other countries.
