“ | GLA postal service! - Bomb truck |
” |
Bomb trucks were GLA suicide vehicles used during the GLA Conflict.
Background[]
Old dilapidated dumpers, uparmoured by GLA and loaded to the brim with explosives. When attacking, they drove into the enemy and detonated their weapons on impact. These trucks were by default loaded with a mixed array of improvised explosives, and could be refitted with more potent explosives or even Anthrax-based weaponry.
Game unit[]
Bomb trucks are surprisingly mobile and resilient for a suicide unit. When used well, few well-placed Bomb trucks can obliterate targets worth far more than themselves. Though not affected by the GPS Scrambler's stealth ability, Bomb trucks' optical camouflage can disguise themselves as any vehicle within its owner's sight range (including Spy Drones and Battle Drones, as well as civilian vehicles), allowing them to avoid threats in the open, and swiftly demolish opponents slacking on stealth detection. It doesn't conflict with their expendable nature, as Bomb Trucks can duplicate disguises from other Bomb Trucks. If that wasn't enough, Bomb trucks can also have their payload upgraded for extra destruction and release a contagious blast.
The main disadvantage of Bomb trucks is their crippling cost, which is on par with SCUD launchers, a reusable artillery unit, and it only gets higher when upgrades are factored in. This forces players to think strategically regarding their investment and target selection. Their camouflage ability doesn't affect its performance, so an attentive human player can easily recognize them before they get too far, even without stealth detection.

Trivia[]
- The words "U Die" can be seen on the flap covering the biobombs.
- Due to a modelling mistake, the bomb truck's driver can be seen on both sides.
- In May 2016, the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom made a Twitter post regarding extremists in Syria receiving chemical weapons. The post included an image of GLA bomb trucks from the Command & Conquer Wiki (as seen in the gallery). Although the image was marked with the text "Image for illustration purposes only", the post was ridiculed,[1] even by the Electronic Arts CEO at the time, Peter Moore.[2]
