The Tank Drop was a promotional ability available only to Chinese General Kwai, famous for his heavy reliance on armoured divisions. Similar to the Paradrop used by the United States and fellow General Fai, the Tank Drop involved the deployment of units by air; however, of course in this case the units deployed were tanks, specifically Battlemasters, rather than infantry. There were 3 ranks of Tank Drop, available to Kwai as he racked up more successes in battle. At its most basic level it would enable him to drop a single Battlemaster anywhere on the battlefield (the transport aircraft could be shot down, but to do so required a lot of enemy anti-aircraft fire). At levels 2 and 3 it enabled him to deploy 2 and 4 Battlemasters respectively.

Tank Drops were most useful for taking the enemy by surprise. Since even at its most advanced level the number of tanks able to be dropped was relatively small, it was unwise for Kwai to drop his tanks into a hail of enemy missiles. However, if he managed to catch the enemy off-guard the Tank Drop could potentially turn a battle in his favour. Of course, it was also useful for providing free reinforcements.
