Notes
A Guardian Cannon upgraded with a Railgun

The Guardian cannon is a stationary turret in the employ of GDI. Recognizing the lack of precision of RPG towers of the Second Tiberium War, GDI decided to evaluate data records as far back as the First Tiberium War. Upon reaching combat reports about Nod's turret defense systems, engineers and commanders agreed that this is an elegant and simple solution to the problem.

The new turret is a powerful automated 105mm howitzer with a forward facing shield. It is mounted on a rotating platform and is capable of rotating its turret on the Z axis at a range of over 30 degrees. The cannon itself is of large caliber firing APDS rounds. It is effective against light to medium vehicles and tanks on it's own, but requires support against heavier foes and, of course, infantry. However, the railgun upgrade can compensate this weakness at least to an extent.

Following the Third Tiberium War, GDI has developed a railgun equipped variant of the Guardian cannon, resulting in obviously enhanced firepower.

The Guardian cannon is also used on mobile Battle Bases (unpacked Rigs).
