Jake McNeil was a high ranking GDI officer stationed in the Norwegian Hammerfest base. He was well-known and respected by his subordinates and also the brother of GDI field commander Michael McNeil, and essentially worked in his shadow.
He was an idealistic soldier, envious of the position his brother occupies, or at least of the fame he receives while regular officers like Jake were getting none. He was captured by the Brotherhood of Nod forces prior to their invasion of Hammerfest and coerced into lowering the base's Firestorm defence systems.
Jake was killed by Nod, possibly due to him having afterthoughts. Corporal Lewis reported Jake's death to his brother.
It is possible McNeil's brother name is Jake because of Jake Fury, the brother of Nick Fury, a famous Marvel characters.
The two pair brothers share some numbers of similiarity such as both younger brothers betray.
