Laser turret
From Command and Conquer Wiki
The self-powered laser turret was the basic base defence of the Brotherhood of Nod in the Second Tiberium War. It was essentially the smaller, more versatile cousin of the mighty Obelisk of Light.
The design was simple - it was a laser gun, powered by an internal capacitor (meaning it remained active even if the power grid went down) mounted on a flexible mount, lying dormant underground when not in use. Due to its relative simplicity, large numbers of laser turrets were deployed to defend Nod bases.
The weapon was powerful enough to cut through GDI combat suits with ease and seriously damage Wolverine powered armour suits or knock their arms off. However, heavier foes such as the Titan medium battle mech were capable of destroying the laser turret from well outside its range, as the laser gun was limited in this aspect. Another weakness was that the turret was almost entirely exposed to weapons fire, making it easy to disable it.
Regardless, the laser turrets continued to evolve and stayed in service of the Brotherhood of Nod. The design evolved, and a new generation of laser turrets was developed. These turrets, armed with a pair of lasers, are hidden in underground armoured compartments and deployed when the situation calls for it. Three of these turrets are linked to a single hub and each is capable of self repair as long as the hub remains intact. They are weaker against infantry now but stronger against vehicles. They are also unable to target aircraft.
These laser turrets can be upgraded with Spitfire laser capacitors, increasing damage output. The hub system can also be upgraded with a fourth turret.
