Built on a half track chassis, the mobile command center was a vehicle designed specifically to provide battle control for military commanders as a moving Command Center. Equipped with high tech communications equipment, it allowed commanders to lead their troops effectively. The chassis was also very universal, used as base for Tesla tanks and radar jammers.
The halftrack version was gradually phased out of use with the introduction of more advanced communications and command equipment, eventually leading to it falling out of use by the end of the First Tiberium War.
However, Mobile Command Centers lived on through the Second Tiberium War, in the form of GDI Orca Command craft, and Nod's tunnel riding Montauk.
The Scrin Mothership also appears to serve as a Mobile Command Center, and is also used as a mobile weapon of mass destruction.
