|“|| GDI has left themselves open to the deadliest weapon of all, information. Our spies tell us the GDI base in your area contains an advanced attack helicopter, the Orca. Steal this weapon, then fly to the nearby village and destroy it. The attack will be blamed on GDI.|
- Mission briefing
The government of Republic of Central Africa while officially maintaining a neutral stance had become alarmed at the rise of Nod power in Africa. Consequently they had agreed to allow the GDI to set up at least one base in their country. In the base at Bangassou however the GDI had placed one of their new Orca Assault Craft.
Kane devised a cunning, if ruthless plan and delegated its implementation to Seth. Nod forces would attack the base near Bangassou and steal the base's Orca Assault Craft along with its Helipad. Having done so they would use that Orca to launch a false flag attack on a nearby village; because the Orca would still bear GDI colors the GDI would be held responsible for the atrocity.
Battle and Massacre
Seth sent two groups of Nod soldiers to attack the GDI base. The first group consisted entirely of vehicles and was deployed on the plateau to the north-west of the base. The second group consisted mostly of infantry and was deployed to the north of the base, this group included the engineers that were to steal the Helipad.
Under the command of an unknown Nod commander this group proved successful even though the base was well-defended. Having stolen control of the Helipad, a Nod engineer flew the captured craft on multiple attack runs against the village which was to the north over a river. They did serious damage to the village and killed at least several people. When Seth was satisfied that sufficient damage had been done to the village, the Nod forces fled the vicinity of the base making it appear that GDI forces had actually successfully repelled them.
The destruction dealt to the village by the GDI aircraft caused a major scandal that undermined the GDI's reputation and convinced more people throughout Africa to rally to Nod's cause.
Particularly, it convinced the Central Africans that GDI bases would not bring security but would instead bring massacres. The government and people turned against the GDI and GDI forces were expelled. Faced with the threat of an imminent Nod invasion the government of Central Africa finally declared itself in favor of Nod and against the GDI.
