The Orca Carryall was an unarmed utility craft that played an important role in the GDI arsenal. It was designed to carry vehicles across the battlefield, allowing the units to go where they were needed and ignoring the restrictions of terrain, Tiberium, or in some cases, enemy defenses. Carryalls were also much faster than all GDI ground units, so they could be used to transport units quickly. This could be used to transport powerful units such as Disruptors or the even Mammoth Mk. II. Furthermore, when paired with an APC, it could also be used to transport squads of infantry around the map. Unfortunately, it had weak armour.
An Orca Caryall was much faster than its 'equivalent' counterpart on the Nod side, the Subterranean APC, allowing GDI to both quickly respond to developing situations and transport harvesters to fields that, although they might be very distant, might also be quite lucrative.
In short, Orca Caryalls provided GDI forces with great mobility throughout the battlefield, much more so than their Nod counterparts.
For all intents and purposes, the Carryall was superseded by the V-35 Ox, a VTOL ordnance delivery craft, while in a twist of irony, Nod adopted the Carryall's design, creating their own version of the craft.
