Proton Collider Strike |
| “ | Commander, you are cleared to construct the Proton Collider. The effects of this weapon will be catastrophic on the densely packed Soviet bases. - Allied Advisor, The Moon Shall Never Have Them | ” |
The Proton Collider is the Allies' superweapon in Red Alert 3 that replaces the now non-existant Weather control device from Red Alert 2.
Background
When the Soviets removed Einstein from the space-time continuum, one effect of this was that the Allies were devoid of most of Einstein's inventions, including the weather control device. With no effective weapon to counter the Soviet offensive into Western Europe, the Allies were on the run. When the Allies began their liberation of Europe, Allied High Command instructed their defense-affiliated companies to create a new superweapon. The Netherlands-based company FutureTech answered the call: a Proton Collider. It is a large cannon-like superweapon that, when activated, unleashes charges of anti-protons, contained within a sustained magnetic field. Collider cannons fire these bolts into a ballistic trajectory towards a designated area. Upon hitting the target, the containment field ceases to function and anti-protons annihilate with protons in regular matter - resulting in powerful explosions. Five such bolts are fired at one time, making the Proton Collider a highly destructive superweapon on par with the soviet Vacuum Imploder and the Imperial Psionic Decimator. A miniaturised version of the Proton Collider was also used on the Harbinger Gunship.
In-game
| “ | Tick tock, Commander! I've got a Proton Collider with your name on it and there's not a bloody thing you can do about it! - Giles Price, about the Proton Collider | ” |
The Proton Collider possessed the greatest area of effect of all superweapons in the game, but did the least damage per unit area.
Deployment history
In Operation: The Moon shall never have them It was authorized for use against the Shuttle Launch Facility and against the Soviet bases protecting the seven Iron Curtains that guarded the Premier's facility.

In the Soviet Operation: No Traitors Tomorrow a Proton Collider at a nearby airbase was destroyed by Oleg and one of the Soviet's new Commanders.
The Proton Collider was also deployed in the Soviet assault on New York but this one was destroyed by the same Soviet commander before President Ackerman had chance to use it.

In the Imperial Campaign, Shinzo and the Future Supreme Shogun used the Nanoswarm Hive superweapon to protect their troops from two of these deadly weapons, deployed in Amsterdam.
