"VX, all systems green."
- VX
Emperor Yoshiro of the Empire of the Rising Sun is well-known for his love for mechs and transforming units. Before the World War III started, he was complaining that his Empire had no good answer to aerial threats. The Emperor immediately asked for a mech not only with powerful anti-aircraft equipment, but one that can also transform into an assault chopper. That, in short, is how the Striker/Chopper VX was born.
[edit] Tactics and Counters
"They got my fuselage!"
- Soviet MiG being directly hit by Striker VX fire
In walker mode, the Striker forms a powerful and quick anti-air platform, which is surprisingly agile too. It can crush infantry by just walking over it. Allied soldiers sometimes make jokes about its looks (they think it looks like a chicken), but nevertheless, it is a very deadly enemy. It can also transform into Chopper mode. This proves useful when it is under attack by units unable to hit air targets (and vice versa). In helicopter mode, its weapons consist of missiles only capable of hitting ground targets.
But like all vehicles, the Striker has his downsides too. First of all, like most Imperial units, it has very low armour. Secondly, it is unprotected from fighter threats while airborne. Lastly, transforming from Chopper to Striker cannot be done above sea. Still, it is one of the most used units of the Empire's forces and it will not be pushed from that place easily.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Its Transforming Features are based off of Transformers.
Also the Chopper VX invasion is similar to the Kirov invasion.
