The basic reconnaissance vehicle of the Allies during Great World War Two was an all-terrain jeep armed with an M-60 machine gun mounted on it. The vehicle was extremely fast, among the fastest units used during the war.

The Ranger was extremely inexpensive and easy to produce. It could be used as a scout to explore the battlefield and to harass enemy bases. It was also effective against infantry but it could not crush them. It is the first vehicle available to the Allies in the campaign.

However, it possessed virtually no armor, which rendered it vulnerable against any foe other than infantry.
