[edit] Storyline

In an attempt to prevent WWII from ever happening, Albert Einstein invents the Chronosphere, a machine capable of bending the laws of the universe, and moving matter through time and space. Einstein goes back in time to 1924, and is seen with a young Adolf Hitler. Einstein's negotiations prevent Hitler from ever rising to power and sparking World War II. The only problem with this, however, is that the Nazi forces in WWII were the only thing standing in the way of and preventing Joseph Stalin's own revolution for the USSR. [edit] Original Intention

Red Alert was released after Tiberian Dawn and was heavily implied throughout the game to be the prequel to the Tiberium series. Kane features in several cutscenes[1] and in the Allied Campaign there is a reference to the UN planning a "unique military funding initiative" for a "global defense agency"[2] which is, presumably, the precursor to the Global Defence Initiative. This was later confirmed to be the intention by employees of Westwood Studios which was later taken over by EA.

In fact, the chain of causality was intended as[3]:

[edit] EA

When the First Decade was released EA's policy was that each of the three series existed in their own distinct universe and were unrelated. They later contradicted this position by releasing Kane's dossier prior to the release of Tiberium Wars. This GDI document from the official website refers to Kane and implies links to Red Alert 1, stating that some sources put his date of birth to around 1905.[6]

[edit] This wiki's policy

Due to several references by Westwood, EA and Red Alert this wiki regards the Tiberium and Red Alert universes as separate but with identical time lines and events until the divergence sometime after Red Alert 1.

Therefore, the Red Alert 1 Allied campaign is considered canonical in both universes.
