Rifle infantry were the basic light infantry of the Allied and Soviet armies during the Second World War. They were generally armed with small arms and ballistic helmets. The Soviet Rifle infantrymen used a AK-47 and the Allied Rifle Infantry was armed with an M-16, which entered widespread use in the opening stages of the war, preceded by the M1 Carbine.
They wore no body armor whatsoever, relying on terrain as cover and their skills. The only protective element worn by them was a simple steel helmet.
In the last stages of GWII, the United States had entered the war; Rifle infantry were some of their contributions to the Allied cause. Indeed, American Riflemen found Stalin after the Battle of Moscow, but left Stalin fate in the hands of Nikos Stavros.
