[edit] History
[edit] Second World War
During the Second World War the Allies equipped their rocket infantry with Dragon TOW missiles. These were effective against tanks and aircraft.
[edit] First Tiberium War
Nod employed rocket infantry during the First Tiberium War. Like their Second World War predecessors they were tasked with engaging tanks and aircraft with a light TOW launcher.
[edit] Second Tiberium War
By the Second Tiberium War, Nod infantry were equipped with a shoulder-mounted launcher and continued to fulfil the anti-armor and anti-aircraft role.
[edit] Third Tiberium War
Between the wars Nod adopted militant rocket infantry. GDI also reintroduced missile infantry. By the Third Tiberium War both factions employed rocket infantry again.

Rocket infantry are the anti-vehicle and anti-aircraft counterparts of the anti-infantry rifle infantry. Rocket infantry tend to be slower than rifle infantry.
Rocket infantry are available to all factions in multiplayer in Command & Conquer: Red Alert and Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn.
[edit] Behind the Scenes
The game data for Command & Conquer: Red Alert equips rocket infantry with two weapons, the "RedEye" and the "Dragon". This allowed the developers to separate the unit's response against ground and air targets.
The sidebar icon in Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn and Command & Conquer: Red Alert depicts rocket infantry armed with M72 LAW.
