[edit] Second World War

The Tesla troopers of the Second World War were called shock troopers. These soldiers were not widely deployed but were found in the ranks of Stalin's elite guard. The Tesla weapon was a long rod.

[edit] Third World War (First Iteration)

The shock troopers evolved into the Tesla troopers by the Third World War. Troopers wore suits with significant heavy armor coverage. The Tesla weapon was integrated into one of the gauntlets. Troopers could support stationary Tesla coils by using their weapons to charge and enhance the structure's effects.

The Tesla trooper remained a part of the Soviet arsenal despite the changes to the timeline made by Anatoly Cherdenko. They wore full body armored suits and like their predecessors could charge stationary Tesla coils. The troopers were also equipped with an EM disruptor to disable enemy vehicles.

The shock trooper appears in the Aftermath expansion pack. They may not be crushed.

[edit] Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2

The Tesla trooper may not be crushed except by Battle Fortresses. When moved close to a Tesla coil, troopers may charge the coil to increase the structure's range and power. Troopers may also keep coils operational during blackouts in this fashion.

The trooper's attack is only moderately effective against units with light armor, and is even less effective against structures. Its durability against conventional tank weaponry made them efficient tank destroyers, however.

[edit] Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

As in Red Alert 2, Tesla troopers in Red Alert 3 cannot be crushed and may charge Tesla coils. Note: Heavy vehicles like the apocalypse tank and the King Oni can crush still tesla troopers. Troopers gain the EM disruptor ability which prevents enemy vehicles from moving, shooting, or using abilities. The trooper may not fire while using the EM disruptor.

Tesla troopers are invulnerable to Attack Dogs and War Bears, but are otherwise vulnerable to other anti-infantry attacks.

The Tesla Trooper is a rival of the Legionnaire trooper but can be crushed by tanks despite its effectiveness against Tanks.
