Snipers of the Black Hand were one of the most feared and loathed Nod troopers in the First Tiberium War. They were equipped with black jumpsuits and lightweight body armour, which protected the chest area from regular caliber bullets and shrapnel, as the preferred method of engagement were sudden, silent strikes. They were also equipped with full composite helmets with red visors, containing night vision modules as well as integrated rebreathers.
Black Hand snipers usually avoided open combat, preferring reaching their vantage points and then striking against the enemy from the shadows with high powered Vervac R-59 sniper rifles. Many GDI soldiers, officers and infantrymen fell to their shots.
After the war, the Black Hand snipers continued to be an important part of the Nod arsenal. However, they weren't available to regular field commanders.
