Soviet Civil War

From Command and Conquer Wiki

The Soviet Civil War during Great World War III was part of the internal Soviet power struggle which plagued the Soviet leadership. These events take place in the alternate timeline (Soviet perspective) of Great World War III, during which the Soviet Union gained the upper hand and eventually victory over the Allies.

[edit] Power Struggle

As the war progressed, two individuals emerged as the candidate for Premiership, as Romanov succumbed to illness. One was General Vladimir, the highly-decorated General of the Red Army, and Yuri, head of the Psychic Corp and Romanov's advisor and right-hand man. A growing animosity exists between the two men as the Soviet Union won victory after victory.

Yuri first forced Romanov to make him supreme commander of the Soviet army. Tired of wielding power behind the scenes, Yuri killed Romanov, then framed Vladimir for the assassination. Yuri declared Vladimir a "non-person" and sent Soviet force to Washington D.C. - "home of the corrupt" - where Vladimir has been living as military dictator of the U.S.A. and building up his forces. Aided by Iraqi Desolator units, Yuri's troops decimated the defenders before capturing Vladimir in the White House.

The commander of the mission, a highly-decorated war hero, became Yuri's right hand man and sent to other missions to mop up stubborn Allied resistance in Texas and in the Caribbean. Upon learning of the truth behind Romanov's death, the Commander turned against Yuri and overthrew him in Operation Red Revolution.

[edit] Aftermath

After Yuri's fall from power in Operation Red Revolution, and the final defeat of the Allied Nations in Operation Polar Storm, the Soviet commander became the new Premier of the USSR, now the sole remaining superpower on earth. Although Yuri seemed to have been buried underneath the rubble of the Kremlin, highly disturbing footage in the Soviet Archives suggested that Yuri is still alive, operating underground, and plotting to regain power. Yuri's final words in a video tape sent to the new Premier were "It would be good to see inside your mind, General. I still may get the chance."

As revealed by the Psychic Dominator Disaster which following the Allied victory in the "real" timeline of the War, Yuri has been secretly building his own private army and constructing Psychic Dominator devices in a bid to take over the world. If Yuri is alive at the end of the Soviet timeline , he may put this plan into action. This is however merely speculation. Time will tell...
