Sorry, I'm slightly lazy.

Why is it the penultimate weapon? I'm pretty sure that this means the second most powerful weapon in the arsenal. Therefore, what would the most powerful weapon be? --Dthaiger 18:19, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

By definition, Ionizing gas is stripping away its electrons, which means moving it to the fourth state of matter. This means (for oxygen and most other atmospheric gasses), raising its temperature by a large amount, beyond the flash-point of paper and many other things. Furthermore, ionized oxygen, while dangerous because of its heat, is not volatile in the sense that it is extremely flammable (indeed, oxidizers need to be in contact with a fuel source to detonate). Sorry this is a little desultory, but the point is that the explanation of TWIII ion cannon needs work.
