40 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition? What did the pistol look like? A .45 Colt M1911 has to use a single stack and can carry only 7 rounds, and the Beretta Cougar 8045 only eight... Shaur M. S. Grizlin 08:44, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that's what the novel has for the Nighthawk pistol. I read the novel in one day (except for the last chapter or so), so the details are a little fuzy. But I did note the caliber, number of rounds in a notebook. I'll go back and check if they had a detailed visual discription. For reference, the Nighthawk is introduced in the scene while everyone is on the Huron, heading for the battle of San Deigo.--Eldarone 14:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Just to be sure, I rechecked the novel agian. I'm somewhat puzzled by the dialouge. Vega just noticed the Nighthawk reloads weighing much heavier than he expected. A character responds that the Nighthawk "fires forty 'stead'a thirty." I thought it refered to the number of rounds since the pistol caliber was already established. --Eldarone 05:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Accutchly it was Desert Eagle .50AE. That why D.E. 2 shot can kill a guy on COD4 and COD6. Also, it is not nighthawk pistol from the fake-named Counter - Strike.

That's a lot of bullets! Edit

The lightest round the current popular .50 pistol fires weights 19 grams per round. Forty rounds of that is just a bit shy of 1.7 pounds. These are also large bullets; the magazine must be larger than the gun! Ah well, most game designers don't know anything about firearms, so I guess it can be excused as mere ignorance. --Cheomesh 03:29, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

It's the writer's mistake. I still wonder just how exactly did he manage to do it. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 10:33, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
