The Titan Medium Battle Mechanized Walker (or Titan Mk. I) was a large GDI bipedal walker in service during the Second Tiberium War. It fulfilled the same role as the medium tank of the First Tiberium War. The Titan was 25 feet tall and armed with a 120mm cannon.

Despite its strengths Nod forces were able to develop various counters, including deployed Tick Tanks, whose lower profile and increased protection (due to being partially burrowed) helped offset the Titan having the first shot. Rocket Infantry, especially on higher ground, were highly effective and Advanced Artillery could often strike at Titans long before they could engage. Another counter was using the EMP Cannon, provided the Titans weren't spaced out.

Titans were universal war machines but suffered from their lack of speed and inability to effectively counter infantry units. The faster Wolverines were used for this purpose, although it should be noted that Titans, especially in these large groups, could simply crush infantry under their massive feet. Also, mass deployment of Titan walkers was almost impossible, especially in an urban setting.

The Titan chassis has been used extensively by GDI and many advanced walkers used either newer version Titan chassis or modified ones. An example of this approach was the Juggernaut.

Despite these advantages, the walker was extremely expensive to maintain and not very reliable due to the amount of mechanisms and electronics it carried as well as the fragility of its legs. As such it was largely phased out and replaced by the faster and cheapter Predator MBT. A Titan Mk. II would be put into service exclusively for the Steel Talons armored battalion. This variant was large enough to be able to crush the newer and smaller MBTs fielded by GDI and Nod.
