Volkov was a cybernetic special forces operative of the Soviet Union in the Great World War II. He was designed as a killing machine, armed with a high caliber pistol by default, his metal endoskeleton with an integrated grenade launcher coupled with a human brain provided an excellent soldier. He was controlled with a set of control codes and deployed on covert missions.
However, Volkov was far from perfect, as in one case, he was captured by Allied researchers who attempted to hack his codes. Also, despite being a super soldier, the cost of maintaining his body, producing painkilling drugs, the initial costs of construction made Volkov a unique soldier in that he was the single "trained" one.
His aide, Chitzkoi, was a cybernetized shepherd dog, who was, apart from being fitted with resistant armor plates, was also fitted with artificial muscles, allowing him to jump distances many times the ones a regular dog could cover.
Following the defeat of the Soviet Union, Volkov was captured along with Chitzkoi and decommissioned.
