The War Miner was the basic resource gatherer used by the Soviet Union during Great World War III.
Soviet military analysts saw a major problem with the Ore Truck used during Great World War II. It had been easy for the Allies to overwhelm the Ore trucks with groups of infantry wielding anti-tank weapons. Other then trying to run them down, which wasn't often successful if they were spread out, it had no defence. To counter this, the War miner was equipped with a machine gun to fight off enemy infantry. However, it still didn't have a decent defence against tanks, especially the German Tank Destroyer.
When elite it's machine gun was upgraded into an auto-cannon which was effective against tanks, infantry, and structures, and could easily ward off a squadron of G.I's or Initiates especially if it had found the firepower, armor, and speed upgrade crates. As a result of Soviet time-travel, the War Miner was removed from existence, and the New USSR Ore Collector took over it's role. However, Imperial Ore Collectors have heavy machine guns like this one.
